Community Events

Muskego

  • Jammin' on Janesville is held annually on the first Friday of June. The popular street festival is organized by the Muskego Area Chamber of Commerce to foster interaction between business and community.
  • DandiLion Daze community festival is held the last weekend of August on the Veteran's Memorial Park grounds and includes a community parade on Sunday morning.
  • The Water Bugs Ski Show is held every Wednesday evening throughout the summer at Idle Isle park.

Town of Norway & Wind Lake

The Community Picnic is held in late summer/early fall offering bouncy houses, games, music, food, and fun.

Village of Big Bend

The popular Rumble by the River Truck and Tractor Pull occurs at the village park every July.

Town of Norway & Wind Lake

Colonel Heg Memorial Park in Wind Lake offers a lovely, quiet area to enjoy a picnic or nature. The park is a memorial to Colonel Heg's service to his country. It includes an 1830s log cabin and museum handled by the Wind Lake Historical Society.

Village of Big Bend

Hygeia Spring is a natural spring and has a unique history in that its waters were piped to the 1893 World Columbian Exposition in Chicago where it was sold via automatic machine for a penny a glass.

Lakes, Parks, & Natural Resources

Muskego

  • Badertscher Preserve offers wetlands, woodlands, and prairies for the hiker's appreciation. The conservation has trails for foot travel, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
  • Big Muskego Lake State Wildlife Area provides public hunting, fishing, and compatible recreational and educational opportunities. Visit the WI DNR Site for a topographic map of Big Muskego Lake.
  • Engel Conservation Area has 29 acres of upland woodlands, 87 acres of wetlands (including 22 acres of wet woodlands and 42 acres of wet prairie plantings), and 31 acres of upland prairie plantings with four miles of hiking trails for self-guided nature walks.

Town of Norway & Wind Lake

Meyer Park and Racine County Colonel Heg Memorial Park offer beautiful, open areas for recreational activities.

Village of Big Bend

The village park sits alongside the winding Fox River and is a lovely place to spend the afternoon fishing, launching a kayak, or bird watching. The Floyd Swayze Memorial Center is a quaint place next to the river. It can be rented for a special occasions.

Sports & Recreation

Archery

Park Arthur offers a 45-yard shot archery range.

Boating, Fishing, & Swimming

Big Muskego Lake, Lake Denoon, and Little Muskego Lake offer public boat launches. For launch locations and fees, visit the City of Muskego's site.

Muskego County Park provides hiking trails, a beach with public swimming, and camping.

Wind Lake offers public boat launches, the Wind Lake Fishery Area covering its island, and great bird-watching opportunities.

Golfing

Enjoy rounds of golf at Muskego Lakes Country Club. For mini-golf or driving range fun, visit Moreland Road Golf Center.

Hiking & Trails

Muskego offers numerous recreation trails and snowmobile trails for the outdoors enthusiast.

The Seven Waters Bike Trail runs through Wind Lake. There are numerous snowmobile trails that connect the communities across Waukesha and Racine Counties.

PickleBall

Lions Park has four pickleball courts.
