Chamber Person of the Year Award

This award recognizes a representative from a Chamber business member. The Board of Directors considers representatives who demonstrate outstanding actions according to the following criteria in a calendar year.

  • The person has volunteered much time and effort to better our organization and its members.
  • The person has shown specific moments of service to the business community.
  • The person is authentic and passionate in the community-at-large through volunteerism and donation of time, effort, and resources.

This award is presented at the annual Awards Gala in March. The recipient receives a commemorative plaque and special recognition.

Congratulations to our 2024 Chamber Person of the Year: Stephen Shelly of Brew City Accounting & Tax

 

Stephen Shelly of Brew City Accounting & Tax has served as Treasurer on our Board of Directors since 2019. During 2024, he helped navigate the Board's decision to invest Chamber funds and took the lead in making sure this action was done in a timely and profitable way. He continues to steer our Board of Directors in a positive direction through his financial expertise and advice, often offering valuable insight beyond what is required in his role as treasurer. In addition, Brew City Accounting & Tax has supported and invested in the Chamber’s mission as a Partner Sponsor for several years.

In 2024, Stephen brought great service to our business community by researching and offering valuable information regarding upcoming laws and their potential impact on business. This action provided insight and awareness for our business members.

In addition to his role on the Board of Directors, Stephen volunteers at Chamber events and on various business committees. Currently, he serves in a lead role of the Chamber’s Policy Task Force.

By participating in and lending his knowledge to this project, Stephen will help create a positive impact within our collective organization and also its individual business members.
